#AARTalk June edition with @Bunmi_Sobowale

OLUWABUNMI SOBOWALE @Bunmi_Sobowale  WAS OUR LAST GUEST SPEAKER ON THE JUNE EDITION OF #AARTalk. SHE SHARED ON "HELP! I WAS RAPED."

With a standing ovation let's welcome our guest for tonight @Bunmi_Sobowale as she takes the platform now.

Good to be here to be a blessing tonight. Good Evening Everyone.

Grateful for the #AARTalk platform vision that was birthed into the twitter world to fan out the voice of survivors.

To the topic -HELP! I WAS RAPED.

A cry for help is a time to listen and not judge. A cry for help is a sign to reach out and touch someones's life.

A cry for help is the heart-cry of every rape survivor. Wanting to break free from the pains, hurts, agonies.

But how many hear the cry for help of a rape victim? The cry that their heart is crying out to be set free.

Tonight my tweets will be mostly directed to victims of rape, so as to help remove the veils from their faces.

The word rape is derived from the Latin word 'rapere' meaning to steal, seize or carry away.

Rape is horrific, humiliating, life-threatening for a victim. It can strip a victim of her self-worth and sense of power.

Have you been raped? Have you been crying out for help? Do you feel lost? I have a good news for you-HELP IS HERE!

Being a rape victim is not easy, because the psychological effect of rape are potentially more life altering for a victim.

It cannot be described, the one that goes through those pain only know how it hurts and feels.#AARTalk

Victims believe they are always the one to be blame for being rape. As a result most of them don't want to voice out their pain.

Due to this believe they lack the motivation to seek care, while some don't even forgive themselves for it.

They use self-blame as an avoidance based coping tool. Self blame is deep, and it has many languages it speaks in a victim's life.

It can also hinder the healing process, making it difficult for them to possess a positive outlook to life.

I know u must have been blaming yourself for this experience. But for how long will u continue this self-blaming game? For how long?

You have to know you cannot change what happened to you. But you can always do something about it.

You have to know you cannot change what happened to you. What has happened has happened!

Don't allow the experience determine YOU and stop you from LIVING your God-given life.

See beyond what happened to you. God did not give you life to live in yesterday, when you still have today.

Every problem has a solution, you have to see that there's a way for you. It's called paradigm shift.

You must know what was done was not done to you as a person. It was done to your body. And your body is a clothe you wear.

And you have a right/freedom to remove clothes from your body and put on another one. So I need you to change your perception.

You a spirit-being and no one can kill a spirit. So don't allow that experience kill you when you are still alive.

Hope you caught that revelation?#Deep.

Stop giving yourself pity-parties that is dipping you more into a pit. What have you achieve with it so far?

Your destiny lies in your hands as a survivor. Take a look at your palm and see the evidence and LIVE it.

It is already there that you will live that destiny, that's why is there always for you to see.#AARTalk

Are you going to allow your experience make you see something else that your manufacturer as already written?

No situation/circumstances should stand as a barrier to your life. You just have to see beyond and move ahead of it.

The fact that you are still alive today is a pointer that you are more powerful than that circumstances(rape).

You are still here for such a time as this that rape did not consumed you. You survived it!

You are still here for such a time as this that rape did not consumed you. You survived it!

Don't allow any negative event put a rewind, hold, paused or stop to your life, when it can always be fast-forwarded.

Break every chains that your experience is using to chain you(destiny) down. You are unstoppable.

Life as options for your pains you either medicate it, motivate it or meditate on it. The choice is yours!

A lot of victims medicate on their pains. Believing the medication will take it away. Who told you so?.

Medicating your pains has the tendency and possibility of aggravating the pains the more. So is not an option to go into.

Neither is suicide an option for you. If you look into that option, how will you behold the beautiful future ahead of you.

You are a unique and special being packaged with a special destiny called and chosen to fulfil purpose. Believe it!

You need to voice out your pain so that you can be help. Help only comes to those who wants solution.

Keeping silent won't help you, silence kills one gradually, so you need to share and release the pain inside of you.

You need to voice out, speak out and raise your voice. There are people that have dedicated their lives to be of help to you.

You can confide in them and they will reach out to you. You can talk to me @cessokay @AyodejiOsowobi @estherijewere @abdulhabiba12

Don't remain silent, it has a way of eating you up inside and that can be destructive.

Keeping quiet about evil only allow the evil to thrive the more. So break that silence!!!

The power a rapist has over a victim is SILENCE. So speak up and be a VOICE for others.

Being raped is not the end of the world there are many beautiful things waiting ahead of you. Take back your life and LIVE.

Stop crying over spilt milk enough of the tears, depression, bitterness and sadness because of your experience.

There is a way for you God still love you despite the way you think you've been messed up.

Dear survivor one thing i'm sure of is that you can't change where you've been, but you can change where you're going.

Look inside of you and pull out the strength inside of you. I see courage, power, grace, hope and most especially healing.

The Rape was not your FAULT, you need to move on with your life. You have to keep fighting till you win. Never ever give-up.

It's not your fault that you were raped but it's your fault if you give it permission to cripple and damage you.

I know u are hurting now, but have come as balm to help in soothing your pains because I hear your cry for help and feel your pains.

For every hurt there is a healing. The healer works on your hurt and turn you to healing balm that can help heal others wounds.

Please don't turn yourself to a walking corpse when you are still breathing and alive..

God can greatly and wholly use you to restore wholeness to others who has walked in varying degrees of wounds.

Learn to open your mouth & speak beautiful word to yourself in other to get back your self-esteem. You have the power in your mouth..

Healing is available for you. Enough is enough, you have no excuse not to get back on your feet.

If we did me @joycemeyer @cessokay @AyodejiOsowobi @abdulhabiba12 and a whole lot more, than you can.

GET YOUR LIFE BACK AND LIVE!

You are beautiful, you are grace, you are a miracle indisguise. Your future is bright! Go ahead and Hug yourself.

Your cry for help has been heard and nothing can stop you. STAND UP AND BE WHO GOD has CALLED you to be.

I SEE A NEW YOU UNFOLDING!
